-       RAM (Random Access Memory), made up of small memory chips that form a memory module, installed in the RAM slots on the motherboard. The function of RAM is to open and run programs because it is quicker than loading it from the hard drive and it allows it to run without any lag, so the more RAM you have the faster programs will run.

-       ROM (Read-Only Memory), memory containing hardwired instructions that the computer uses when it starts up, before the system software loads.

Cache, stores recently used information so that it can be quickly accessed later. There are different types so the computer runs more efficiently, (Brower, Memory, Disk and Processor Caches)
