A hard drive is where all data is stored and it houses the hard disk. Normally a little bigger than a hand + can hold over 100 GB. The data is stored on a stack of disks, they spin at 5400 or7200 RPM so that the data can be accessed immediately.

A pen drive is a data storage device that includes flash memory with an integrated Universal Serial Bus interface. USB flash drives are typically removable and rewritable, and physically much smaller than an optical disc. Third  generation pen drives have a transfer rate of up to 625 MB/s.
